You’ve made the leap and hired your wedding photographer! Or you took a deep breath, saved your pennies, and invested in an anniversary photo session. Now comes what is for many the most intimidating part of the process – choosing your outfits! (And ladies lets be honest, we are the ones who have the most trouble with this!)
In a previous post, (find it here) I shared some general tips for prepping for your session, including dressing up a bit more than usual and splurging on a manicure. Today’s post I’m getting a bit more specific and sharing some favorite places to find the perfect dress!
A few tips for your hunt:
NOTE: For the sake of this post, I’m sharing some favorite online retailers, but I also highly recommend local boutiques if you have some nearby! If you’re in the Madison area, Hilldale Madison has some great chain and local boutiques and Zbella Boutique specializes in plus-sized fashion! (ALSO, I am not affiliated with any of the companies mentioned in this post so this is not a sponsored post, there are no affiliate links, and I am not being compensated for this content in any way!)
Favorite Online Retailers:
Pastel florals, romantic lace tops and ethereal chiffon skirts!
Stylish dresses and skirts with modest hemlines and necklines. Many styles also look like they’d also transition well to maternity sessions!
Beautifully tailored dresses with a vintage nod for the classic lady.
Old Navy has always been my favorite place for casual clothing that is easy on the wallet, but lately they’ve stepped up their game in the cute, budget friendly dress department! (Bonus family session tip – Old Navy is my favorite go to for coordinating outfits for the whole family!)
Casual classics that come in petite sizes too!
Floaty, feminine dresses with some fun boho prints thrown in!
Obviously there are lots of options out there, but I hope this helps point you in the direction of the perfect dress! For an ultra polished look, consider treating yourself to professional hair and makeup as well! Remember that your engagement or anniversary photos are an investment that will most likely hang on your walls for years to come – make the most of the photo opportunity by feeling your very best!
